Great August 29, 2010 Gary M. Fishkin (Marlboro, NJ United States) It's perfect for what it's supposed to do.
I'm converting all of the old family VHS tapes, and so far 5 out of 5 have worked perfectly.
A great price for a great product.
Wouldn't record DirectTV on any type of DVD August 24, 2010 Elrics Bane (Petaluma, CA USA) Got this unit hooked up with no problem to record content from my DirectTV. Everytime I would try to record somewhere from 15 minutes to 35 minutes into recording I would get a disc error stating the unit couldn't record to the type of disc. I tried several different types of DVD's -R +R RW and different brands, Verbatium, Toshiba (should work right?), Sony and had the error on all discs and disc types. Tech support was a joke and kept blaming me for doing something wrong but they couldn't identify it. I am a systems admin so I know I had it setup correctly, the recorder was just terrible. I returned the item to Amazon and am seeking a replacement. If anyone knows of a good burner besides this one please post. thank you.
Good Product August 23, 2010 James A. Bell It is a very good product. It will just take time for me to better understand all of the features that it has.
Beats the heck out of all the rest August 11, 2010 Jason Gansauer (Phoenix AZ) I have been struggling for some time with another brand of dvd recorder. I cannot tell you how many times I had to refer to the manual or switch settings to even attempt to record and then finalize my recording. This recorder is very simple and obviously meant for me. A great price as well.
Works Great!!!!! August 11, 2010 Dallas 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have already done 12 movies and they have turned out perfect.
This unit works great, and i have really enjoyed using it.
My main reason for buying it was to record movies in full screen
because i am not to crazy about widescreen or letter box.
Some people may like there movie chopped off, but i don't.
I look at it this way, if i spend $ 1,200.00 for a 65 inch big screen
TV i want to see all of it. Thanks Dallas
